The Officers and Guardsmen of the Orange Company of The Hague, 1616, by Jan Anthonisz van Ravesteyn (1572-1657).

Van Ravesteyn was a Dutch portrait painter known for his skill in capturing the likeness and character of his subjects during the late sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

Born in The Hague, he began his artistic career in the late 16th century, gaining prominence for his lifelike and detailed portraits. Ravesteyn’s work was highly sought after by the Dutch elite, including members of the court of Maurice, Prince of Orange.
