A Royal Procession Descending a Stairway by Eugène Lami
This piece by 19th century French painter Eugène Lami (1800-1890) is giving me MAJOR vibes of that one shot of the Lord of the Rings cast standing on the stairs… and I’m not mad about that.

Lami was best known for his watercolor paintings of upper class Parisian society, but like any good Romantic era painter, he also did a share of historic paintings like this 1869piece, A Royal Procession Descending a Stairway in a Garden.

Back in 2022, it went to auction by Sotheby’s, where its value was estimated at $3,000 to $5,000.
